Lizz Helmsen

Lizz Helmsen currently serves as the Managing Director at Carter, Advancing Philanthropy Worldwide, where leadership involves guiding a team of over 50 professionals in supporting nonprofit organizations with fundraising, organizational planning, and governance. Prior experience includes roles as Capital Campaign Director at the Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center and various positions at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, culminating in the role of Director of Corporate and Partnership Support. Lizz also advanced from Manager of Membership Gifts to Director of Individual and Partnership Support during tenure at the same symphony. Earlier experience as a Development Associate at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre laid a solid foundation in the arts sector. Lizz holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh and a BFA in Drama Design from Carnegie Mellon University.
