Derrick Thomas

Derrick Thomas has extensive work experience in the automotive industry. Derrick most recently worked at CARWAVE as a Regional Operations Manager/Crew Chief, where they led a team of inspectors and coordinated dealer services in South Texas Territories. Prior to that, they worked at Keekko LLC as an Operations Manager/Lead Technician, where they were involved in planning, engineering, and implementation of mobile/utility vehicles. Derrick also created standard operating procedures, managed inventory, and trained technicians. Before that, they held positions such as Assistant Service Manager at Joe Myers Toyota, Shop Manager at Cherry Park Automotive, and Automotive Service Advisor/Writer at Christian Brothers Automotive. Derrick began their career as a Diesel Technician at Penske Truck Leasing.

Derrick Thomas attended Universal Technical Institute, Inc. where they obtained a diploma in Automotive Technology. In addition to their formal education, Derrick also obtained several certifications in various automotive-related fields. Derrick completed the Filtration Course at Wix Filtration Corporation in November 2016. In October 2011, they completed the Air Brake Systems course at Meritor WABCO. Derrick also holds certifications from ASE - National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, including the Auto Maintenance and Light Repair Certification Test (G1) in February 2022, the Automobile/Light Truck - Engine Repair (A1) in November 2020, the Automobile/Light Truck - Electrical/Electronic Systems (A6) in June 2018, and the Automobile Service Consultant (C1) in December 2016.
