Wendy W. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of water and wastewater engineering. Wendy began their career in 2000 as an Environmental Advisor Intern at Aera Energy, where they analyzed permits and created compliance plans. From 2001 to 2003, Wendy worked as a Technical Specialist at Tetra Tech and later as a 401 Coordinator at the Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board, where they regulated discharges of dredge and fill materials.
In 2003, Wendy joined Black & Veatch as a Civil Engineer, where they designed recycled water distribution systems and groundwater wells. At the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts, they held the roles of Civil Engineer in WW Design, where they developed contract drawings and provided construction phase services, and Senior Engineer in Financial Management, where they managed a large wastewater service charge database.
Wendy then joined the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality in 2014 as an Engineer, where they worked on wastewater and recycled water reuse permitting and reviewed facility plans. Wendy later joined Cascade Energy, Inc in 2017 as a Senior Water and Wastewater Engineer, where they provided support to water systems and wastewater plants to improve energy efficiency and addressed barriers to implementation.
Throughout their career, Wendy has demonstrated strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders in the water and wastewater industry.
Wendy W. obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, starting in 1998 and graduating in 2003. Wendy then continued their education at the same university, completing a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from 2002 to 2003.
In terms of certifications, Wendy obtained a Professional Engineer (Civil) certification from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists in June 2005. Wendy later obtained a Professional Engineer certification from the Idaho Board of Licensure Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors in January 2015. Additionally, Wendy achieved LEED AP, BD+C certification from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) in 2009. In 2010, they became a Board Certified Environmental Engineer with Specialty Certification in Environmental Sustainability, awarded by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists.
