Ashvin Dewan, M.D. has held various positions in the medical field since 2002. In 2002, they served as a Research Intern at Merck, where they studied Iberiotoxin binding to Maxi-K Ion Channels. In 2004, they were appointed to Terling's Park Neuroscience Research Center as a Visiting Scientist to develop a high throughput whole GABA cell patch clamping technique. From 2009 to 2014, they were an Orthopaedic Surgical Resident at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and also served as an Assistant Team Physician for the Baltimore Orioles, Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis Blues, and St. Louis Rams during that time. In 2015, they became an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Houston Methodist, and in 2019 they became the Chief Medical Officer & Co-Founder at CaseCTRL, a company that enables collaboration across surgeons, schedulers, administrators, billing, vendors & staff through Ai and automation.

Ashvin Dewan, M.D. began their educational career in 2001 when they attended Rice University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering in 2005. Ashvin then attended Baylor College of Medicine and obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2009. That same year, they began their Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, which they completed in 2014. In 2003, they also obtained a Master's degree in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. In 2017, they became a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In 2019, they also obtained a Physician Builder Certification Program from Epic.
