Chris Scherer

Vice President Of Finance at Casella Waste Systems

Chris Scherer has a strong background in finance and waste management. Chris began their career at BFI as an Assistant Regional Controller in 1987 and progressed to become a District Controller. Chris then joined Browning Ferris Industries as a District Controller and later transitioned to become the Assistant Regional Controller for Europe at bfi. In 1995, they joined Allied Waste as a Regional Controller before moving to Casella Waste Systems, Inc. in 2000 as the Director of Budgeting, Forecasting, and Operational Support. At Casella Waste Systems, they developed expertise in financial planning and analysis until 2012. From 2012 to 2015, they served as the CFO at Curtis Bay Medical Waste Services, leading financial system upgrades and creating improved accounting structures. Chris then rejoined Casella Waste Systems in 2015 as the Director of Finance before being promoted to Vice President of Finance in 2018.

Chris Scherer attended Illinois State University from 1976 to 1981, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. There is no further information provided regarding their education after this time.
