Martin Thoma has diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Martin started their career as a Programming Tutor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) / University of Karlsruhe (TH) in 2012. Martin then worked as an ASP.NET developer at Fraunhofer IOSB from October 2012 to March 2013. In 2015, they became a Research Assistant at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) until October 2016. From June 2017 to April 2021, Martin worked as an IT Consultant at Netlight, where they gained expertise in data science, machine learning, security, and backend development. Martin also conducted technical interviews and built teams during their tenure at Netlight. Currently, they are employed as a Lead Developer at Cashlink starting in May 2021.
Martin Thoma completed their education as follows:
From 2004 to 2010, Martin attended Paul-Klee-Gymnasium Gersthofen and obtained their Abitur degree.
From 2011 to 2014, they pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
In 2014, Martin also attended Carnegie Mellon University for a brief period to study Computer Science.
Following their Bachelor's degree, they continued their studies at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and obtained their Master's Degree in Computer Science from 2014 to 2017.
In terms of additional certifications, Martin completed the following courses:
- CSS Fundamentals course, HTML Fundamentals course, PHP Tutorial course, Python 3 Tutorial course, SQL Fundamentals course, jQuery Tutorial course, Java Tutorial course, and JavaScript Tutorial course from SoloLearn in July 2017.
- Martin achieved fluency in Beginner-level Portuguese through the Duolingo platform in October 2015.
- Martin completed the "Machine Learning" course from Coursera in September 2014.
- In July 2012, they completed the "Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 1" course, also from Coursera.
