Sulyun Lee

Sulyun Lee has a diverse range of work experience in various roles. Most recently, in 2023, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Castell. Prior to that, in 2022, they were employed as a Data Scientist at Happiest Baby, where they developed and deployed a CNN model to predict customer retention and analyzed product features to improve infant sleep quality. Sulyun also constructed and deployed database pipelines for production and modeling using dbt and SQL. From 2019 to 2022, Sulyun worked as a Statistical Consultant and Instructor at the Iowa Social Science Research Center, where they provided consultation on data analysis, web scraping, and conducted workshops on data science skills. During their time as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Iowa from 2017 to 2021, Sulyun developed a personalized medication recommendation system, conducted statistical inference on risk factors of genetic diseases, and collaborated on medical research papers. Sulyun also briefly served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant during the same period.

Sulyun Lee completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Handong Global University, graduating in 2017. Sulyun then pursued a higher level of education and enrolled at the University of Iowa, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Informatics by 2022.
