Aditya Dandekar has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2008 as a Research Student at Agharkar Research Institute, Pune, India, where they isolated and characterized Methylotrophic Methanogens from Mangrove Sediments of Andaman, India. From 2010 to 2015, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Wayne State University School of Medicine, where they demonstrated a unique connection and mechanism behind liver inflammatory signaling pathway in bacterial infection, leading to novel adjuvant, vaccine treatment in bacterial infections. From 2015 to 2018, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Virginia, where they investigated the role of ER stress response in macrophage antigen presentation ability in antiviral immune response, assessed Macrophage mediated modulation of adaptive response in T cells, NK cells, and developed a novel approach to target macrophage signaling molecule to improve immune response. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Scientist and Scientist II at Carisma Therapeutics. Currently, they are a Principal Scientist at Castle Creek Biosciences, Inc.

Aditya Dandekar received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology and Immunology from Wayne State University School of Medicine between 2010 and 2015. Prior to this, they obtained a Master's degree in Microbiology from Savitribai Phule Pune University between 2007 and 2009. Additionally, they are expected to obtain a Drug Development Product Management certification from the University of San Diego in September 2022.
