Javier Alonso, PhD, is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as a Lawyer in Legal Consulting for the Department of Equality and Feminisms at Generalitat de Catalunya since March 2024. With extensive experience spanning over two decades at the same institution, Javier Alonso held notable positions including Senior EU Policy Officer in Development Cooperation, Migration, and Justice in Brussels, and Head of Unit for Aliens Law and Labour Relations within the Secretariat for Equality, Migration, and Citizenship. Javier Alonso has contributed to various migration services, notably the Voluntary Return Programme and the SARU service for recognizing foreign qualifications.
