Sarah Lade

Bioinformatics Business Scientist at Catalytic Data Science

Sarah Lade has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific, technology, and cultural fields. Sarah began their professional career in 2006 as a Project Intern at the New York Botanical Garden. In 2008, they became a Research Associate at the Institute for Environmental Solutions. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Cultural Ambassador (Auxiliar de Conversación) for the Generalitat de Catalunya. During this time, they also served as the Proprietor of Yard to Table Landscape, LLC. In 2015, they became a Graduate Student at the University of Lleida, and in 2019, they began working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre de Ciència i Tecnologia Forestal de Catalunya. Most recently, in 2021, they took on the roles of Bioinformatics Business Scientist and Bioinformatics Research Analyst at Catalytic Data Science.

Sarah Lade has a varied educational background. Sarah earned a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Plant Pathology/Phytopathology from Universitat de Lleida in 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science - MSc in Agricultural Production Systems from Universitat de Lleida in 2011. Sarah also holds a Bachelor of Science - BSc in Sustainable Landscape Horticulture from the University of Vermont, which they earned in 2007. In 2006, they attended the School for International Training, studying Ecology and Conservation. Sarah also holds a number of certifications, including a Nivell Intermedi de Catala B2 from the Generalitat de Catalunya (2015), a Proficiency in English - Council of Europe Level C2 from the Cambridge English Language Assessment (2015), an Español para extranjeros - nivel B2 from the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas (2012), a Cambridge Examiner certification from the Cambridge English Language Assessment, and a TEFL/TESOL certification from Oxford Seminars.
