James Benning

James Benning is currently the Co-CEO at Catamount Constructors. Prior to this, they were the President at Knutson Construction Services from March 2019 to October 2021. Before that, they were the Executive Vice President at Milhaus from March 2017 to March 2019 and Vice President - Construction at Buckingham Companies from December 2014 to March 2017. James also served on the Board of Directors at Spearfish Economic Development Corporation from October 2012 to November 2014. Throughout their career, James has developed expertise in business development, motivating teams, presenting, proposal development, construction management at risk, design-build, safety expertise, human resources, project management, and project scheduling.

James Benning's educational career began at Spearfish High School. James then attended the University of South Dakota, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Communication. After working for a few years, they decided to return to school and earn a Master of Arts in Business Consulting from the University of South Dakota. James also has a certification from the US Army Corps of Engineers in USACE QA/QC Systems Management.
