Nicholas Quinn has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as a Software Engineer at Catchlight. Prior to this, they worked at Fidelity Investments as a Software Engineer, where they researched, designed, and implemented a custom open-source integration for Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure Storage. Nicholas also improved existing Python code to enable easier instrumentation of critical Observability tooling. Before Fidelity, Nicholas held the role of Associate Software Engineer at the same company.
Before their time at Fidelity, Nicholas gained experience as a Software Technical Intern III at BAE Systems, where they delivered a testing suite using Python and Bash for automated end-to-end testing and improved scripts to transition the project to Git.
Earlier in their career, Nicholas worked as an IT Technician at the Kansas State University Catalyst Technology Center, aiding students and faculty with hardware and software issues and being entrusted to secure valuable technical equipment after school hours.
Nicholas's work experience also includes serving as a Human Intelligence Collector in the US Army, where they led a small team to support intelligence collection operations and participated in a United Nations humanitarian mission in Monrovia, Liberia.
Nicholas Quinn completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Bioinformatics from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Nicholas attended the university from 2017 to 2020. In addition to their degree, Nicholas also obtained two certifications. In August 2019, they received the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA. Furthermore, in December 2021, they completed the "Intro to Machine Learning" certification from Kaggle.
