Syed Saad Mahmood, MD, MPH, currently serves as the System-Director of Cardio-Oncology at Catholic Health, overseeing clinical and research services in Long Island, NY, since February 2023. Prior to this role, Mahmood worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Cardiologist/Cardio-Oncologist, where leadership of the chimeric antigen receptor T-cell cardiovascular optimization clinic took place from January 2022 to January 2023. Mahmood was also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine from July 2017 to January 2023, founding and directing the Cardio-Oncology Program while conducting grant-funded research on cancer immunotherapy-related cardiac toxicities. Early training included positions as Chief Cardiovascular Disease Fellow and Attending Physician at Mass General Brigham, as well as educational roles at Harvard Medical School. Mahmood earned an MD and MPH from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and holds a BS in Biochemistry (Honors) and a BA in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University.
