Jamu White has a long history of working in various roles. Jamu began their career in 2004 as an Illustrator/Designer for their own company, Jamu White Illustration. In 2010, they took a position as a Sign Artist for Trader Joe's, where they produced art and typography for products, provided customer service/support, and supported other employees on group projects. In 2012, they worked as a Graphic Designer for Kendall Hunt Publishing Company and as an Administrative Assistant for the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where they managed the employer's daily calendar of appointments, meetings, activities and events, and managed the department newsletter updating staff on events and changes in procedure. In 2014, they worked as a Museum Attendant at the Harvard Art Museums, where they maintained the safety of artwork and patrons, provided general support and service for patrons, vendors and other departments, controlled and monitored access and egress points of the building, and performed daily inspections of the galleries and other spaces. Additionally, they worked as a Front Desk/Admin Assistant at the University of California, Los Angeles, and as a Quality Assurance at 2K Games. In 2018, they took a position as a Marketing and Platform Director for CauseEDU and an Events & Finance Coordinator for Harvard University. Most recently, they have been working as an Administrative Assistant for the MIT Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences since 2021.
Jamu White attended The Art Institute of California Los Angeles from 2004 to 2007, where they studied Media Art and Animation. From 2010 to 2012, they attended Harvard University, where they studied Visual Arts.
