Attorney Joel Nagel is the chairman of Caye International Bank, a private bank in Belize that caters to international clients. Nagel has many years of experience in international law and asset management, and at Caye International Bank, he helps clients manage offshore accounts that are private and stable. He is a proponent of Belize as a banking location because its official language is English, its location within the US Central Standard Time zone is convenient to Americans, and its common-law system is familiar to American nationals as well.
In addition to his role as chairman of Caye International Bank, Nagel is also the managing partner of Nagel & Associates, LLC, a boutique law firm specializing in international corporate strategy, legal structures, and commercial transactions. Through the firm, Nagel helps clients utilize tools such as insurance policies, foundations, trusts, residency visas, and second citizenships to achieve financial security for themselves and their progeny.
Nagel has also served as a diplomat to the United Nations Office at Vienna and as a representative of Belizean interests in various European countries. He has served on the boards of over 20 companies and advises dozens of financial institutions, including banks, mutual and hedge funds, and insurance companies.
Joel Nagel was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Allegheny College, majoring in political science and German. He then attained a law degree from West Virginia University and received an LLM from Georgetown University of Law. He also was a Fulbright Scholar, studying at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn, Germany and at The Hague Academy of International Law.
