George Liao

George Liao, PhD, is an accomplished professional in the field of pharmacology, currently serving as an Associate in US Investments at CBC Group since October 2021. Prior to this role, George completed a PhD in Pharmacology at Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University, specializing in the study of modulatory protein mechanisms influencing g-secretase activity relevant to Alzheimer’s Disease, breast cancer, and kidney disease. Experience includes recognition as a winner at the Accelerating BioVenture Innovation 2020 for contributions to a novel fecal microbial transplantation technology pitch deck at Weill Cornell Medicine BioVenture eLab. George has also worked at Janssen Pharmaceuticals, where novel drug-like compounds were developed, and gained early exposure to pharmaceuticals during a summer internship at Axon Medchem BV. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Medical Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
