Hope Thackery has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Hope started their career at LexisNexis in 1987, where they held various roles in marketing and product management. During their time at LexisNexis, they led the company's first team of internet product, content, and design managers and created a business case for an e-commerce product. In 2003, they founded their own consultancy firm called The Thackery Group, where they served as Founder and Principal Consultant. Here, they worked with corporations and small businesses, developing and implementing successful market and product strategies. Hope joined Reed Elsevier, Inc. in 2005, where they held multiple positions including Sr. Director Security Policy & Programs and VP of Privacy, Programs, and Communications. Hope led a program office of 13 employees and contractors, coordinating global execution of privacy, security, and regulatory compliance programs. Hope also launched a portfolio of security, privacy, and compliance remediation projects. In 2014, they joined Cincinnati Bell as the Director of Security Programs before becoming the Security Programs Director at CBTS in 2018.
Hope Thackery has a Juris Doctorate degree with a Tax Concentration from the University of Dayton School of Law. Prior to that, they obtained a BA degree in English and Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington. In addition to their educational background, they have certifications in Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) from the International Association of Privacy Professional and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA.
