Erika Fuchs, PhD, MPH, serves as a Senior Maternal and Child Health Epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since September 2020, providing expertise and analytical support to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. Fuchs promotes workforce development by mentoring interns and early career staff in maternal and child health epidemiology. Prior experience includes an Assistant Professor position at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where involvement in the Berenson K12HD052023 program focused on developing junior faculty in women’s health research. Fuchs has held postdoctoral fellowship and research assistant roles at various institutions including the University of Minnesota, where key contributions were made to projects in health policy, chronic disease outcomes, and reproductive health. Education includes a Ph.D. in Epidemiology, MPH in Maternal and Child Health, and a BS in Biology, all from the University of Minnesota.
