George A. Pourakis

George A. Pourakis, MD, MPH, is a Senior Public Health Analyst at the US Department of Health & Human Services, HRSA, with experience dating from January 2015 to the present. Previously, George served as a Senior Health Services Officer with the U.S. Coast Guard and as a Medical Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, contributing to the H1N1 Community Mitigation Task Force and Policy Unit. Early career roles include an internship with the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and completion of a Preventive Medicine Residency at SUNY Stony Brook. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Health from Columbia University, a Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Stony Brook, and a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Civilization from SUNY at Binghamton.
