Dr.-Ing. Matthias Wittenberg

Dr.-Ing. Matthias Wittenberg, PE, PMP, DWRE, REM has extensive work experience in the field of water resources engineering and project management. Dr.-Ing. Matthias currently holds the position of Principal Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager at CDM Smith, where they began in May 2022. Before that, they served as a Senior Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager at CDM Smith from April 2016 to April 2022, and as a Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager from August 2007 to March 2016.

Additionally, Dr.-Ing. Matthias Wittenberg has experience working at McKissack & McKissack as a Senior Environmental Engineer from October 2006 to July 2007, and as an Environmental Engineer from April 2005 to September 2006. Dr.-Ing. Matthias has also worked as a Research Assistant (Wiss. Mitarbeiter) at the Technical University of Braunschweig from July 1997 to June 2003, where they coordinated and managed research and consulting projects in various areas of water and wastewater treatment.

Dr.-Ing. Matthias Wittenberg, PE, PMP, DWRE, REM completed their education at Technische Universität Braunschweig. From 1993 to 1997, they obtained their Diplom-Ingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.) degree in Civil Engineering. Following this, they pursued further studies and earned their Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) degree in Environmental Engineering from 1997 to 2003. In addition to their educational background, Dr.-Ing. Wittenberg holds various certifications including a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, a Diplomate Water Resources Engineer (DWRE) from the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE), a Professional Engineer (PE) accreditation from Virginia, and is a Registered Environmental Manager (REM) with the National Registry of Environmental Professionals.
