Edouard Duchesnay

Edouard Duchesnay has had a successful career in the field of data science and research. Edouard started their career in 2001 as a Teaching and Research Assistant at Université de Rennes 1, where they taught computer science and conducted research in distributed computer vision systems. In 2002, they worked as a Software Engineer at Astek, contributing to the design and implementation of missile mission planning algorithms. In 2003, Edouard joined CEA as a Postdoctoral researcher, focusing on the development of a data mining platform for brain imaging. Edouard then moved to INSERM in 2005 as a Data Scientist, working on the design of multivariate discriminant methods for biomarker discovery and early diagnosis of psychiatric diseases using brain imaging techniques. Since 2008, they have been with CEA as a Research Director in data science, leading the team "signatures of brain disorders" at NeuroSpin. In this role, they have supervised data analysis for large-scale clinical research projects, applying AI, statistics, and data management techniques. Throughout their career, Edouard has gained expertise in fields such as machine learning, multivariate statistics, and brain image processing.

Edouard Duchesnay obtained an Engineer's Degree in Software Engineering with a specialization in artificial intelligence from EPITA: Ecole d'Ingénieurs en Informatique from 1992 to 1997. From 1997 to 1998, they pursued a Master's Degree in Signal and Image Processing at Université de Rennes I. Edouard then completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Artificial Intelligence applied to Medical Image Processing from Université de Rennes I from 1999 to 2001. In 2020, Edouard obtained their Habilitation (for full professorship) in Machine Learning applied to Neuroimaging from Université Paris-Saclay.
