Cristian Bosch is a seasoned Senior Research Data Scientist at CeADAR Ireland since January 2018, specializing in handwritten text detection and recognition using transformers and object detection techniques. Prior to this role, Cristian served as Data Scientist II, focusing on offline document OCR through Computer Vision methods. Cristian's expertise also includes predictive maintenance of wind turbines, gained during a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Career-FIT postdoctoral fellowship. Previous experience includes work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at University College Dublin, and a PhD Student at the University of Valencia, supported by a FPU PhD Fellowship. Cristian's academic background includes a PhD in Theoretical Physics, a Master’s degree in Molecular Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and a Bachelor's degree in Physics, all obtained from the University of Valencia. Notable research experiences include visiting positions at Fermilab and CERN.
