Patricia "MICKEY" Stuart has extensive experience in diabetes education and care. Patricia "MICKEY" started their career as a Diabetes Coordinator and Educator at Central MS Medical Center, where they developed and implemented diabetes management programs for inpatient and outpatient settings. Patricia "MICKEY" also supported educational activities in other healthcare centers.
Patricia "MICKEY" later worked as a Diabetes Educator for Innovex, Division of Quintiles Transnational, where they provided field-based education support and collaborated with sales teams to target patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacists. Patricia "MICKEY" also managed a territory and coordinated with field sales representatives.
Stuart then joined Information & Quality Healthcare, where they worked on the Mississippi Health First project. Their responsibilities included physician practice recruitment, professional education, and providing diabetes self-management education to underserved Medicare populations.
Patricia "MICKEY" continued their work in diabetes education with Healthcare Management Solutions, participating in the Mississippi Health First project. Patricia "MICKEY" provided professional education, diabetes education, and mentoring for aspiring Certified Diabetes Educators.
Stuart also gained experience as a Regional Field Coordinator at the American Association of Diabetes Educators, where they assisted in the development of state legislative coordinators and promoted diabetes educators state licensure legislation. Patricia "MICKEY" also provided coaching in strategic planning and assisted with presentations and trainings.
In their role as a Diabetes Educator at River Region Medical Center, Stuart engaged in patient education and supported individuals with diabetes management. Patricia "MICKEY" also worked as a Clinical Educator at VMS BioMarketing, where they trained patients and healthcare professionals on diabetes disease state and therapy regimen.
Currently, Stuart serves as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist at Cecelia Health. Patricia "MICKEY" provides integrated care to patients with chronic diseases, addresses care gaps, improves medication adherence, and utilizes digital touchpoints to deliver optimal clinical interventions.
Throughout their career, Stuart has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving patients' lives through diabetes education and care.
Patricia "MICKEY" Stuart has an extensive education history. Patricia "MICKEY" obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Exercise Physiology from The University of Southern Mississippi, starting in 1989 and completing it in 1991. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Community Health Education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, from 1976 to 1977. Patricia "MICKEY" also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Health, which they obtained from The University of Southern Mississippi from 1973 to 1976.
Before attending university, Patricia earned their High School Diploma in General Studies from South Vicksburg High School in 1973.
In addition to their academic degrees, they have obtained multiple certifications throughout their career. Patricia "MICKEY" became a Certified Diabetes Educator through the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators in 1987. Later, in 2014, they obtained the Master Licensed Diabetes Educator certification from the Kentucky Board of Licensed Diabetes Educators.
More recently, in February 2022, Patricia has obtained several certifications from the CITI Program, including RCR for Research Staff, Research Role-Based Training Course, Conflict of Interest, CITI Good Clinical Practice Course, and Study Nurse/Coordinator certifications.
