Dr. Peter Botschek

Dr. Peter Botschek is a seasoned professional in industrial policy, climate change, and energy, currently serving as the Director of Industrial Policy & Competitiveness at Cefic since 2001. Dr. Botschek has led Cefic's contributions to significant EU initiatives, including the 'Fit for 55' package and the EU ETS Review, while also addressing carbon leakage and state aid guidelines. Previously held positions at Cefic include Director of Climate Change & Energy and Director of HSSE, Energy & Climate Action, where Dr. Botschek coordinated Cefic's stance on EU energy reforms and represented the organization at various high-profile forums. Earlier roles include managing agriculture and environmental issues at Yara International and serving as a Corporate Consultant Manager at Thomasdünger GmbH. Dr. Botschek holds a PhD in plant nutrition and environmental impact and a Diplomagraringenieur degree in agriculture from The University of Bonn.
