Alexa Ouma is a Fuel Cell Stack Test Engineer at cellcentric GmbH & Co. KG since January 2024. Currently involved as a Propulsion Sub-Team Member with UBC Chem-E-Car and serving as the VP of Professional Development for Women In Engineering UBC, Alexa has also been a student in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia since August 2022. Previously, as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the UBC Phototechnology Innovation Lab under Dr. Fariborz Taghipour from May to August 2023, Alexa contributed to the development of novel quantum dot-based UV sensors for biomarker detection in human sweat. Alexa is pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Engineering at UBC, expected to graduate in April 2026, and holds a Cambridge International Certificate of Education focusing on STEM fields from Brookhouse Schools.
