Mari Weddle has a diverse range of work experience. Mari started their career as a Writing Center Tutor at the University of North Texas in 2016. Mari then worked as an Academic Assistant in the university's English Department, assisting with grading, curriculum planning, and lecturing. Concurrently, they also worked as an English, Linguistics, and Technical Communication Lead Copy Clerk, where they managed schedules, product orders, and assisted faculty with course materials.
In 2017, Mari continued their academic support role as an English Tutor at home, working with middle school students on reading comprehension, literary analysis, and writing conventions. Mari then transitioned to a Student Teacher role at Aubrey High School, where they co-created curriculum, assisted with grading, and implemented a classroom management plan.
From 2018 to 2021, Mari worked at Lone Star High School, initially as an English Teacher, teaching multiple English courses and collaborating with fellow teachers. Mari later served as a Long Term Substitute Teacher, teaching English III and IV, as well as online courses. Mari also organized workshops on various topics related to life after graduation.
Mari's experience in education continued at Frisco ISD, where they served as a Curriculum Writer in 2020, collaborating on a standard curriculum for junior-level English. Mari also participated in the Teacher Recommendation Committee in 2021, providing input on text choices for various courses.
Most recently, Mari joined McAllister & Quinn as a Research Analyst, where they conducted research on higher education institutions, federal budgets, and legislative matters. Mari also assisted with client and project management, grant preparation, and workshop coordination. Currently, they are working as a Business Analyst at Censeo Consulting Group.
Mari Weddle earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language Arts with Teaching Certification and History with an International Studies Minor from the University of North Texas between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they participated in the Dual Credit Program at Austin Community College from 2012 to 2014. Mari completed their high school education at Cedar Ridge High School from 2010 to 2014. Mari Weddle obtained additional certifications including Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner from Prosci in January 2023, ESL Certification from the Texas Education Agency in July 2019, Texas Educator Certification (ELA 7th-12th) from the Texas Education Agency in December 2018, and Google Certified Educator (Level 1) from Google in November 2019.
