Carl Tash

Chief Investment Officer at Centennial

Carl Tash has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the real estate industry. Carl began their career at JMB Realty Corporation, where they quickly rose through the ranks to become an Executive Vice President. During this time, they led investment teams in significant acquisitions totaling over $5 billion. Carl also played a crucial role in the company's major policy-making committees. Tash then joined JMB Institutional Realty, where they served as President and helped grow the firm's investment portfolio to over $21 billion. Following this, they founded Cliffwood Partners LLC, a hedge fund with a unique strategy of buying and shorting real estate equities. Carl later transitioned the fund into an absolute return product and built its assets to $150 million. Tash then moved to Starwood Capital Group, initially serving as the Chief Investment Officer. Carl was later promoted to Acting Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategist, overseeing a 30-asset portfolio of regional malls and lifestyle centers. Carl also led investment teams in London and supervised the European Board of Directors for investment approvals. Most recently, Tash joined Centennial Real Estate as the Chief Investment Officer, leading their investment efforts in Dallas.

Carl Tash completed their education in a chronological order. From 1974 to 1978, they attended The Wharton School, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with a focus on Entrepreneurial Management & Accounting. Following this, from 1980 to 1982, Carl attended the Harvard Business School, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Real Estate.
