Michael Clark

Michael Clark is a skilled research associate specializing in China policy at the Center for American Progress since March 2023, following experience as a research assistant in the same field. Previously, Michael worked as a translator at the Asia Pacific International Joint Research Institute, focusing on U.S.-China relations. A former China analyst intern at the U.S. Department of State, Michael has extensive experience in monitoring PRC activities in South Asia and compiling analytical reports. Additionally, Michael possesses a strong background in the food and beverage industry as a bartender and has diverse work experiences that include roles in tutoring, marketing, and music performance. Michael holds dual master's degrees in International Studies and International Relations, as well as a bachelor's degree in French and Chinese languages and cultures from the University of Virginia.
