Tania Otero Martinez is a dedicated policy analyst with a strong background in K-12 education policy and advocacy. Currently at the Center for American Progress since July 2022, Tania conducts original research and publishes various policy-related documents with a race-equity focus while fostering relationships with community organizations. Previous roles include policy and advocacy associate at Step Up Advocacy, where Tania managed client communications and conducted research across multiple policy areas. Tania's experience also encompasses internships at the National Summer Learning Association, University of Maryland, and Carpio Law Firm, along with work in fundraising and youth instruction, showcasing a diverse skill set in research, advocacy, and community engagement. Tania holds a Master's degree in Social Policy and a Bachelor's degree in Criminology Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Maryland, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Law degree at American University Washington College of Law.
