Amy Simpson-Burden, Ph.D., currently serves as the Multilingual Multimodal Test Development Manager at the Center for Applied Linguistics, overseeing a complex online assessment project focused on multilingual learners in elementary science classrooms. With extensive experience in language education and assessment, Amy has held roles such as English Language Specialist in Peru, where teacher training materials were developed for webinars, and Adjunct Professor at Southwest Tennessee Community College and the University of Memphis, teaching writing courses. Previous positions include Senior Research Technician at Michigan Language Assessment, Virtual English Language Fellow for the U.S. Department of State, and Language Trainer at Global TEFL. Amy holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from The University of Memphis and has additional degrees in Teaching English or Spanish as a second language and Spanish and TESOL from other institutions.
