Liz Byron (Loya)

Liz Byron (Loya) is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in visual arts and Universal Design for Learning. Currently serving as a PreK-8 Visual Art Teacher at Boston Public Schools since July 2019, Liz also holds the position of CAST National Faculty at the Center for Applied Special Technology and is an Arts Education Advisory Council Board Member for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. As a guest lecturer, Liz has contributed to various institutions including Berklee College of Music and Harvard Graduate School of Education. Additionally, involvement with Young Audiences of Massachusetts focuses on supporting teaching artists, while previous roles include being a Harvard Teaching Fellow and an Adult Education Instructor on Universal Design for Learning. Liz's educational background includes master's degrees in Arts in Education and Special Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education and Lesley University, respectively, along with a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and Elementary Education from Boston College.
