Eileen Claussen

Eileen Claussen serves as Executive-in-Residence at Elon University's Love School of Business since August 2015, where responsibilities include advising students on career options in sustainability and advising on sustainability curriculum. Claussen is the founder and former president of the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES), a non-profit organization focused on climate change and sustainable energy solutions. Previously, Claussen held significant roles within the US government, including Assistant Secretary for Oceans and International and Scientific Affairs at the US Department of State, and Special Assistant to the President, where duties encompassed serving as Senior Director for Global Environmental Affairs at the National Security Council. Eileen Claussen holds a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from The George Washington University, as well as an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Loughborough University.
