Nicolas Backal

Nicolas Backal is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in product design and architecture. Currently serving as the Director of Product Design at Okta since October 2018, Nicolas oversees design and research for Okta Personal. Prior roles at Emi Labs include Principal Product Designer and Senior Product Design Manager, along with a position as Head of Design at The Human Diagnosis Project. Additional contributions include advisory and mentoring roles at the Center for Conscientious Leadership and adplist.org. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana and further design studies at California College of the Arts and SCI-Arc.
