Bren Miaira Kutch has a diverse work experience. Bren is currently serving as the Director of Talent, Equity, and Culture at the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) since March 2022. Prior to this, they held multiple roles at USAID, including being a GSM@AID Board Member from May 2020 to March 2022 and an Emergency Personnel and Operations Specialist from March 2020 to March 2022.
Before joining USAID, Bren worked at Portland State University in various capacities. Bren served as the Manager of Culture, Inclusion, and Development from August 2016 to August 2019. Prior to that, they held positions such as OIT Administrative Services Manager, OIT Human Resource Specialist, and OIT Administrative Program Specialist within the Office of Information Technology at PSU. Bren also worked as an Office Coordinator, Lab Coordinator, and STAG Secretary from February 2005 to June 2008. Additionally, Bren provided support for the NW Science Fair Expo, both as a paid and volunteer worker, from September 2002 to April 2006.
Bren Miaira Kutch also had experience at Mercy Corps. Bren worked as a Gender, Diversity, and Inclusion Engagement Officer from April 2019 to July 2019. Before that, they were an Impact Management and Storytelling Intern for MicroMentor at Mercy Corps from October 2018 to January 2019.
Bren Miaira Kutch completed their education in a chronological order. They started their education at North Bend High School between 1998 and 2002, focusing on the field of science. Moving forward, they attended Portland State University from 2002 to 2008, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a double major in Biology and Psychology. Later, they pursued a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree with a specialization in Human Resource Management from Portland State University from 2012 to 2018.
In addition to their formal education, Bren Miaira Kutch obtained the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification in February 2021 from SHRM.
