Jessica Wells-Hasan has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jessica is currently serving as the Chief External Affairs Officer at the Center for NYC Neighborhoods, where they create resource and partnership opportunities, oversees fundraising, external storytelling, policy and research, data systems, and partner strategy. Prior to this position, they held the role of Vice President for Development & External Affairs at the Center for NYC Neighborhoods, where they oversaw strategy for policy and research, fundraising, communications, digital products, and data teams.
Before joining the Center for NYC Neighborhoods, Jessica worked at The Opportunity Agenda as the Director of Development, where they led a team of three and achieved fundraising goals for the organization. Jessica also worked at Girls Write Now as the Director of Development & External Affairs, where they played a crucial role in nearly doubling the organization's budget and managing all communications.
Earlier in their career, Jessica worked at the National Audubon Society as the Assistant Director of Development & Major Gifts Associate, where they worked in the New York State Program and collaborated with fundraising staff from nearby states. Jessica was honored with the National Audubon New Star Achievement Award during their time there.
Jessica also has experience at the Theatre Development Fund as a Senior Development Associate, where they managed proposals, budgets, and reports for corporate, foundation, and government funders. Jessica co-supervised a Development Assistant and played a role in restructuring corporate benefits.
Jessica began their career at the Barnard College as a Research Analyst, where they conducted research on major gifts and board prospects. Jessica also worked as a Research Assistant at Barnard College and gained a deeper understanding of fundraising and donor cultivation.
Prior to their career in the nonprofit sector, Jessica served in management roles at the Barnard Babysitting Service, where they built the organization's first website and implemented a training program.
Throughout their career, Jessica has demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, and fundraising skills, and has actively contributed to the growth and success of organizations in the nonprofit sector.
Jessica Wells-Hasan completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Creative Writing at Barnard College from 1996 to 2000.
