Matthew Grimes

Matthew Grimes, Ed.M, serves as the Head of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion for the Cleveland Guardians, where the mission focuses on uniting and inspiring the community through sports. Additionally, Matthew holds the position of Executive Coach at the Center for Racial Justice in Education, aimed at empowering educators to combat racism in schools. Previous roles include membership on the National Advisory Committee on Inclusive Practices for Waterford.org, Senior Director of Talent & Diversity Development for Springfield Public Schools, and an Equity & Inclusion Fellow at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Matthew also has experience with Teach For America in diverse education leadership roles and as an English Teaching Assistant for the Fulbright Association. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree at Kent State University, Matthew's academic background includes a Master of Education from Harvard and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Siena College.
