Gideon Lukens

Gideon Lukens currently serves as the Senior Fellow and Director of Research and Data Analysis at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities since January 2021. Previously, Gideon held the position of Deputy Associate Director for Economic Policy at the Office of Management and Budget from September 2011 to January 2021, where responsibilities included leading the Economic Policy Division and overseeing staff and projects. Additionally, Gideon worked as an Economist within OMB, providing consultation on health and labor economics, and served as an Economist for the Commission on Care, contributing to the organization and delivery of healthcare for veterans. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Political Science and a Master of Arts in Economics from UCLA, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Goucher College.
