Aster Gilbert

Aster Gilbert is a skilled professional with extensive experience in training, public education, and film programming. Currently serving as the Manager of Training and the Public Education Institute at the Center on Halsted, Aster directs the operations of the Training Institute and contributes to curriculum development on diverse topics, including DEI and intersectionality. Previous experience includes the role of GenreQueer Program Coordinator at Milwaukee Film, overseeing strategic planning and community collaboration for public programming. Aster has also contributed as a volunteer programmer for the inaugural OUTStream Film Festival and held teaching positions at the University of Kansas, where Aster designed multi-modal curricula and delivered professional development opportunities.
