Alvin Tong

Alvin Tong is a seasoned professional in geotechnical and tailings engineering, currently serving as the Director of Geotechnical and Tailings Engineering and Regional Tailings Manager at Centerra Gold Inc. since September 2022. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Geotechnical Engineer at both Norwest Corporation and Stantec from October 2015 to September 2022, and as a Senior Consultant at SRK Consulting from April 2006 to October 2015. Earlier in the career, Alvin served as a Staff Consultant at Knight Piesold from 2002 to March 2006. Alvin holds dual Bachelor of Applied Science degrees in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, as well as Geological/Geophysical Engineering, both obtained from The University of British Columbia between 1997 and 2002.
