Edward P. Rowe

Edward Rowe joined Centerview in 2015 to further develop the firm’s client base in the UK and provide advice to Centerview’s clients, both US and European, in European situations.

Mr. Rowe has spent over 15 years advising UK and multi-national companies on both day-to-day matters and strategic transactions. He has advised companies across many different industries on a broad range of types of transactions. This experience spans M&A, restructuring and capital raisings across multiple geographies and jurisdictions.

Representative assignments include advising SAB Miller plc on its £79bn sale to AB InBev; Informa plc on its £4.0bn acquisition of UBM plc; John Laing plc on its acquisition for £1.0bn by Henderson Equity Partners and Henderson Equity Partners on the subsequent the exit of its investment in John Laing by way of IPO; the Independent Committee of Essar Energy plc on an unsolicited offer from its controlling shareholder valuing the business at $8.3bn; Co-operative Bank on its capital restructuring to generate £1.5bn of Common Equity Tier 1 capital; Inchcape plc on its acquisition of Trivett Automotive Group; Minerva plc on its capital structure, defence from an unsolicited offer and subsequent sale to a consortium; Virgin Money on the investment it received from funds advised by WL Ross and its subsequent acquisition of Northern Rock from HM Treasury for £1.0bn; Aton Capital Group on its sale to UniCredit Group; CPP Group plc on the disposal of its North American insurance business and balance sheet restructuring; Findel plc on a comprehensive balance sheet restructuring and raising of new equity capital; and Lonmin plc on an unsolicited pre-conditional offer by Xstra plc and its comprehensive balance sheet restructuring and rights issue.

Prior to joining Centerview, Mr. Rowe was a Principal at Greenhill & Co. and a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice.

Mr Rowe holds a MA degree in Modern History from University College, Oxford University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
