Shayna Pollock has held various roles throughout their work experience. Shayna began their career as a Fellow at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government in 2010 and then served as a Fellow at the Athens Land Trust and a Roosevelt Summer Academy Fellow at the Chicago Transit Authority later that year. In 2011, Shayna worked as the Director of Communications at CEOs for Cities. From 2012 to 2014, they pursued a 2-year rotating fellowship called Erasmus Mundus Planer Europe, studying and working in the Netherlands, the UK, and Australia. Shayna then worked as an Intern at Place Partners in 2013 before becoming a Senior Fellow at the Roosevelt Institute Campus Network from 2010 to 2012, where they facilitated a national initiative on the BP oil spill and wrote policies on urban development and green buildings. In 2014, Shayna joined Central Atlanta Progress as a Project Manager, focusing on transportation and sustainability efforts. Shayna then served as a Senior Planner at the Atlanta Regional Commission from 2016 to 2018, where they contributed to improving regional public transportation integration and developing infrastructure solutions. Shayna returned to Central Atlanta Progress in 2019 as the Managing Director of Transportation, leading the transportation program and advocating for multi-modal transportation policies and projects in Downtown Atlanta.
Shayna Pollock earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science from The University of Georgia in the years 2008 to 2012. Following this, they pursued two Master's degrees in Spatial & Environmental Planning. One from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 2012 to 2014, and the other from Radboud University during the same time period.
