Páll Friðriksson has a strong background in financial regulation and supervision. Páll began their career in 2007 as a Senior Legal Advisor at the Icelandic Financial Supervisory Authority, where they later served as the Head of securities markets supervision and Director of Markets and Conduct. In 2018, they joined the European Securities and Markets Authority as an Alternate member of the Board of Supervisors. In 2020, they returned to Iceland to work at the Central Bank of Iceland as the Director of Markets and Conduct before transitioning to their current role as the Head of securities markets supervision.
Páll Friðriksson holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from Háskóli Íslands, which they earned from 2003 to 2007. Páll further pursued their studies in Law at the same university and obtained a Master's degree from 2007 to 2008. Additionally, Páll Friðriksson completed a Diploma in securities broker from Reykjavik University in 2010-2011.
