Irmcert Waweru Gakui F.e

Waweru Gakui F.E, IRMCert, currently serves as Deputy Manager Risk and Compliance at the Central Bank of Kenya, providing advice on risk and compliance matters since September 2022. Prior experience includes Assistant Manager Risk and Compliance at ICEA LION GROUP, where guidance was provided to staff, executive, and board regarding risk management from September 2016 to August 2022. Waweru has also held the position of Risk Analytics Lead at Bank of Africa, focusing on the development and implementation of an Enterprise Risk Management framework, and served as an ERM Analyst at Equity Bank Limited, enhancing risk modeling and compliance tools. Earlier professional experience includes a role as a Research Assistant with the Central Bank of Kenya's Monetary Policy Team. Waweru holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, completed in 2011.
