Catarina Vinagre is a distinguished academic and researcher specializing in marine biology, currently serving as a Professor at the Universidade do Algarve and a Senior Researcher at the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) since November 2019. With a strong background in climate change and its effects on marine organisms, Catarina coordinated the LifeLines project focused on the vulnerability of fisheries and coastal ecosystems to droughts from 2018 to 2021. Previously, Catarina held senior researcher positions at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and the Centro de Oceanografia, contributing to significant projects assessing biodiversity and climate change impacts. Catarina earned a PhD in Marine Biology from the University of Lisbon, where academic pursuits began with a degree completed in 2002.
