Jesper Jung

Jesper Jung has extensive work experience in algorithm research and data analytics. Jesper currently holds the position of Director of Algorithm Research & Data Analytics at Centrica Energy, where they have been working since 2019. Prior to that, Jesper worked at Neas Energy A/S as the Team Lead Quantitative Analytics from 2016 to 2019. Jesper also held previous roles of Senior Quantitative Analyst and Quantitative Analyst at Neas Energy A/S. Before their roles in the energy industry, Jesper worked at Aalborg University as an Assistant Professor and Postdoc. Jesper also completed their PhD in Theoretical Plasmonics at Aalborg University. Additionally, Jesper has gained research experience as a Research Visitor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and as a Student at KU Leuven.

Jesper Jung holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Aalborg University, obtained between 2001 and 2004. Jesper later pursued a Master of Science in Engineering, with a focus on Applied Physics, Mathematics, and Nanotechnology, from 2004 to 2006 at the same university. Jesper then continued their studies and earned a PhD in Nano-optics from Aalborg University between 2006 and 2009. Lastly, in 2011 and 2012, they pursued a degree in University Pedagogic for Assistant Professors, specializing in Higher Learning, also at Aalborg University.
