Sander Van Pelt has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Sander started their career as an intern at Evonik Degussa GmbH, where they worked on the application of biocatalysts and the development of new reaction systems. Sander then joined Codexis as an intern before moving on to CLEA Technologies B.V. Here, they held various roles, including Associate Scientist, Product Development Manager, and Chief Technology Officer. In these positions, they managed research projects, supervised scientists and technicians, and developed project proposals. Van Pelt later joined Bioprocess Pilot Facility B.V. as the Manager of Process Technology, leading a team in scaling up industrial biotechnological processes. Sander then worked at Johnson & Johnson as a Senior Scientist in Vaccine Process Development before joining Centrient Pharmaceuticals as the Global Technology and Transfer Lead.

Sander Van Pelt holds a PhD degree in Biocatalysis & Organic Chemistry from Delft University of Technology, which they earned with Cum Laude distinction (top 5%) in the years 2005-2009. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Bioprocesstechnology from the same university during 1997-2005. Sander's education started with their VWO Atheneum degree from Libanon Lyceum between 1991 and 1997.
