Jon Thorson

Jon Thorson currently serves as the College of Pharmacy Associate Dean of Research, Chief Scientific Officer, and Professor at the University of Kentucky, where Jon holds the UK Chandler Medical Center Endowed Chair in Pharmaceutical Research and Innovation. Thorson is also Co-Director of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science Drug Discovery and Development and Director of the UK Center for Pharmaceutical Research and Innovation, as well as Co-Director of the Markey Cancer Center Drug Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics. In addition, Thorson co-founded Centrose LLC in December 2006. Prior academic positions include Professor and Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Assistant Member at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Thorson's educational background includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Bioorganic Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Minnesota, along with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Augsburg University.
