Hesam Babahosseini

Hesam Babahosseini, PhD, serves as an Assistant Professor at Sharif University of Technology since 2024, following a role as Senior R&D Engineer at Cepheid from 2021 to 2024. Prior experience includes work as a New Product Development Specialist at Scanogen Inc. and as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Maryland from 2018 to 2021. Hesam also contributed to research at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering and the National Cancer Institute between 2016 and 2020. A Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Tech from 2011 to 2016, Hesam began academic pursuits at Sharif University of Technology as a Research Assistant from 2007 to 2010. Hesam holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering (Biomechanics) and a Master’s degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
