Mary Alice O. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mary Alice'smost recent position was with Certemy, where they joined in 2019 and served as the Senior Vice President of Client Services. Prior to their time at Certemy, Mary Alice worked at The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) as the Department Director of Government & Legislative Affairs and as the Director of Strategy & Special Projects. In these roles, they oversaw government and legislative issues and worked to increase professional opportunities for counselors and promote access to mental health services.

Mary Alice also held the position of Executive Director at the American Association of State Counseling Boards (AASCB) from 2018 to 2019. In this role, they ensured collaboration among members, access to educational resources, and a strong link to the counseling community.

Earlier in their career, Mary Alice worked as a Special Advisor at the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE), where they worked with the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors (NCBLPC) to streamline processes and implement new procedures.

Mary Alice also served as the Executive Director of the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners from 2011 to 2017 and held various roles at I.T. by Design, including Director of Strategic and Corporate Development and Business Manager.

Mary Alice O. completed their education with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business in 2017. Prior to that, from 2002 to 2005, they attended The University of Georgia where they completed their undergraduate studies and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology and Sociology.
