Dr. Sebastian Runkel

Dr. Sebastian Runkel is a seasoned professional in the fields of business development and sales, currently serving as the Senior Business Development Manager for Germany at Cerus since July 2022. Prior to this role, Runkel was a Transfusion Sales Executive at Abbott and held the position of Global Strategic Product Manager at DiaSys Diagnostic Systems GmbH. Runkel has extensive experience in quality management and consulting, demonstrated through roles such as Quality Auditor Certification at COMCAVE.COLLEGE GmbH and Associate Consultant at IMS Consulting Group. Runkel completed a Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology at the University of East Anglia and holds an MBA in International Management from Cologne Business School. Additionally, Runkel has contributed to initiatives promoting gender equality in academia and has leadership experience as the President of the Enterprise and Engagement club at the University of East Anglia.
